How to Make Gluten Free Taco Pizza
1. Prepare your gluten free pizza dough according to the recipe. If you are using a store-bought gluten-free crust, follow the package directions to prepare it for the toppings.
2. Preheat the oven to 350°. Cook ground beef in a large skillet until it is no longer pink. Add diced pepper and onion and cook them until the onion is translucent.
3. Sprinkle the cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and sea salt onto the ground beef mixture. Add 1/2 cup of water and stir until combined. Let the beef mixture cook on the stove-top until the water is absorbed. Let it cool in the skillet for 5 minutes.
4. When the crust is ready, spread 3/4 to 1 can of refried beans evenly on the crust.
5. Sprinkle the ground beef mixture over the refried beans.
6. Add mozzarella cheese and then the cheddar cheese to the top of the pizza.
7. Cook in the oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese is starting to brown. Let it cool for 5 minutes so the cheese can “set”. Add your favorite taco toppings and enjoy!
Recipe Substitutions
Meat
If you’re not a fan of ground beef, try swapping it out with 2 cups of cooked shredded chicken breast.
Peppers
Rather than 1/2 cup of diced poblano pepper, try 1 bell pepper (diced), or 1 hot pepper (finely diced.)
Cheese
Swap 1 cup shredded mozzarella for 1/2 cup queso drizzled over the ground beef (before you add shredded cheddar.)
