My First Garden

Last month when I finished up my second garden addition of 2021, I was reminded of the first garden I ever built. Do you remember your first garden? I didn’t actually grow anything in that first garden, but it was my own design and my own little piece of land to take care of. OneContinue reading “My First Garden”

The Best Way to Control Garden Weeds

Let’s get real. We’re about 3 weeks past our frost date in our zone, and I know some of you might be ready to throw in the towel. We went on a camping trip at the end of May and weeds TOOK OVER while we were gone. It took me a MONTH to catch up to the point where the garden looked respectable. Mostly quickgrass, crabgrass, purslane and the occasional dandelion. Fun fact about purslane– it can produce over 2,000,000 seeds per plant.Continue reading “July 2019 | A Good Garden May Have Some Weeds”

March 2019 | Starting Seeds

It’s seed time! On March 29, B and I planted a whole tray of sweet peppers (just to be safe– we’re definitely not planting that many in the garden.) Half of the tray is designated to Burpee’s California Wonder, and half is for Burpee’s Long Pepper blend. 11 days later… LIFE! Isn’t it beautiful?! TheContinue reading “March 2019 | Starting Seeds”
