I am a big fan of jelly rolls. I’ve made five quilts using them because they’re beautiful, fun, and a fantastic way to save time… but what is a jelly roll?
Simply put, it is a themed collection of precut fabrics. The standard size of a roll is 40 fabric strips measuring 40” x 2 1/2”. There is a fabric collection for everyone, and there are endless possibilities of things to be made.
Here are a few ideas to get you started:

- quilts of all sizes
- table runner
- Christmas stockings
- tote bag
- stuffed animals
- pillows
You’ll find more inspiration than you need if you head over to Pinterest and search for ideas. However, don’t forget about the option of tried and true pattern books with step-by-step instructions like Jelly Roll Quilts: The Perfect Guide to Making the Most of the Latest Strip Rolls by Pam & Nicky Lintott.
Have fun choosing your favorite collection, and happy sewing!
