Spring is the season for sprucing up inside and outside. After seeing these before-and-after photos, you’ll be dusting off your sewing machine to give your outdoor furniture a new look.

The sun did a number on our deep red patio cushions.
The cushions looked so good when we purchased the set, but after a couple of seasons in the morning sunlight it was time to do something different.
In an effort to save time, I started online shopping. After quickly discovering that new cushions would cost $600, I searched for cushion covers that would fit this particular set.

Nothing.
I measured roughly how much fabric I would need for this project, and it came out to about 14 yards. I ordered the fabric and once it arrived, I wrapped the cushions like they were Christmas gifts. I measured, pinned, cut, pinned again, and sewed the fabric to fit. Once they were on, I fastened the covers in place with a simple ladder stitch.
If your cushions need an upgrade, I found a great, detailed how-to from Confessions of a Serial Do-it-Yourselfer.
Looks amazing!
